Minecraft XBLA is Able to Sell 8M Units 360 Edition Tops UK Charts Once More

Mojang’s Minecraft is now at 8 million in total sales on Xbox 360, the game’s retail launch clearly building upon the XBLA version’s success. Just looks at this week’s UK charts where the Xbox 360 Edition is the fourth game this year to be Numero Uno for three weeks running The other three are The Last of Us, Dead Island: Riptide, and BioShock Infinite.

This is happening as the Xbox 360 version prepares to launch Title Update 12. The full changelog can be found on PlayXBLA. The most notable additions to the PC version are the ocelots, which make creepers run away, and the jungle biomes where they are spawned.

Silly season is almost upon us However, it’s not the time to hide behind the bushes and watch chaos that ensues. It’s a slow week at the UK Charts office – you only need to watch FIFA 13 and The Smurfs 2 in third and second place respectively to see that.

Despite all the silence, Tales of Xillia makes a positive debut. Namco’s JRPG xoars to fourth spot, which is a bit surprising considering the series’ history in the UK. To put it in perspective, Tales of Graces F launched in fourteenth place last year.
